B.Com (Hons Investment Management) Member of The SA Institute of Stockbrokers Chairman - Blue Ink-ubator (Pty) Ltd Member of Blue Ink’s Investment Committee Esmarie has 23 years experience in the financial sector, including stockbroking, pension fund asset management and consulting. In 1995 she was appointed as the executive responsible for asset management of the Transnet Pension Fund. Over the following 12 years she retained this position through the Fund’s various transitional phases. In 2007 the investment services business of Transnet Pension Fund Administrators was sold to Fifth Quadrant Consultants and Actuaries. She continued to act as a consultant to the Funds, then totalling R65 billion. She has represented the Transnet Pension Funds on various Private Equity Governing Boards and Investment Committees. Esmarie was appointed to her current position as Blue Ink’s CEO in 2007.

B.Eng; M.Eng; GDP (Graduate Degree Program); MBA Member of Blue Ink’s Investment Committee In 1998, after completing his MBA in Holland, Thomas returned to South Africa to take up a position at SA Breweries as a commodities analyst. In 1999 he joined Sanlam Investment Management (SIM). He was instrumental in developing SIM’s Absolute Return Fund strategies, and in 2001 was appointed portfolio manager for several SIM funds including some “absolute return” funds. In 2004, after a brief “timeout” to pursue his own interests, he was enticed back into the financial world to head up Hedgehog Capital, a Sanlam hedge fund incubation venture. Thomas joined Blue Ink Investments in 2007 and was recently appointed Chief Investment Officer to head up Blue Ink's fund of hedge funds operations. His responsibilities also cover assessment and identification of new hedge fund strategies and managers for inclusion in The Blue Ink-ubator Diversified Fund.

B.Com (Hons. Finance, Cum Laude) CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) Member of Blue Ink’s Investment Committee Kevin has extensive local and offshore hedge fund management experience. He started his financial career in 1998 with Sanlam Asset Management and its subsidiary, Gensec. In 2000, he moved to RisCura, where he became a director with responsibilities for the development of risk management services for hedge funds and other alternative investments. Kevin joined Blue Ink Investments in 2006. He plays a key role in portfolio construction and risk management, and the identification and selection of hedge fund managers for inclusion in Blue Ink’s funds.

B.Com (Hons, Actuarial Sc.) CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Eben started his financial career in 1998 as a product manager at Investment Solutions. In 1999 he moved to RisCura, where he developed risk analysis systems that were instrumental in building up their risk consulting business. He also consulted to both pension funds and asset management companies. Thereafter, Eben worked for the actuarial division of Price Waterhouse Coopers. In 2002 he joined UBS as a risk and forex structuring advisor and hedge fund manager. He was responsible for developing new business using forex derivatives. He consulted to worldwide corporate clients regarding forex risk, and structured diverse financial products to meet their needs. Eben joined Blue Ink Investments in 2007.

CA (SA) Fellow – CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Hank started his professional career as a partner at KPMG (Chartered Accountants). Thereafter, over a period of 21 years, he held a number of senior management positions in business and industry, of which the last 9 years was as Managing Director of J.P. Morgan Administration Services. Hank joined Blue Ink Investments in 2008.

B.Com Financial Management Anton has been in the investment industry for the last 10 years, working for Momentum Investments and Advantage in various roles from Advisory to product development to business development. He also has a Higher Diploma in Financial Markets and Instruments. Anton joined Blue Ink in June 2009 as Business Development Manager and is a member of the Investment Team.
